Everything except the metal putter head is made of a very nice looking wood and very lightweight. It has not gone through in carry-on luggage yet, but he's anticipating no trouble. Once it is all put together, the putter has a substantial, balanced feel for realistic practice. Most of the items are held in place by a piece of black elastic, except for the head which is held in place by a somewhat cheesy piece of clear plastic (small drawback). The whole unit is well designed for travel, however, because the narrow leather-like case fits perfectly into the short side of a carry-on suitcase. The strap is attached on the inside of the zipper so it can be completely zipped-in when not in use. This is a perfect gift for any golfer who travels and would like to practice on the road.
