I need simple tips on how to improve my accuracy on my golf shots?
I am 13 and i am into golf but i am not too good with accuracy. At the driving range, i average about 175 yards but the balls are going every which way. Any easy tips you golfers have?
I am hitting it with driver and i only get it straight about 1/4 of the time. All the other times its hooking right or hooking left

what club do you hit 175? and where are the balls going? Straight right? Left? or are the fading (slowly go to one side)
one of the best ways to improve accuracy is to control your back-swing. Instead of making a a full swing, start making a 3/4 swing with all of your clubs. Next time you visit the range try that for awhile…start PROGRESSIVELY with your wedges, and work your way up 9,8,7,6,5,4,3, 5wood, 3wood, driver etc. You should notice that with a controlled back swing, your accuracy should improve.
On the other hand accuracy problems could be caused by a number of problems. PERSONALLY for me, I had a problem keeping my body, and arms in sync. I’m not a super strong guy by any means. Many times my lower body would out-race my arms….and so my clubface would be open as I made contact with the ball. If this sounds like it could be your problem you could fix it in 5 minutes…Promise. Today I use a slightly “strong” grip. A strong grip is where your leading hand (right hand if you’re left handed….OR left hand if you’re right handed) Anyways take your leading hand, (you’ll notice that it your thumb and pointer naturally forms a v shape) and rotate it until that “v” points to your trailing shoulder. It takes awhile to get used to but it works…trust me. Below is a link showing a picture. Hope this Helps…and Good Luck!
lessons my son, lessons…. Dont do like a lot of us growing up and think you can learn the game your self on a driving range.. Take a lesson from a Pro at some golf course and right from the start he will let you know is you have any potential…Good luck and know… Its a great game… Grant in Pennsylvania
Best thing to do is to take a two week break from golf, then give it up altogether.
Seriously, as it’s been said earlier a controlled backswing will benefit you the most. It doesn’t matter if you’re hitting 175 and having to ask ‘Which tree?’ I’d rather hit 150 and be in the fairway.
Here is a golf school that has some great golf tips. They have video, animation and other types of golf tips.
