The All About Golf Tips 7 Iron Chip which is THE BEST WAY for the majority of amateur golfers to get the ball close to the hole, is also sometimes referred to as the “chip and run.” The simplicity of this 7 Iron shot is the reason for it’s great effectiveness. Breaking the shot down to it’s basic, simple swing allows up to drastically lower the margin of error one would make using the classic chip shot. Here is the All About Golf Tips Strategy for hitting this simple shot: When the ball is in a position just off the green surface, get into a setup position exactly the same as you would during a full swing shot. Then choke down about two or three inches on the club.

Move slightly closer to the ball to accommodate the choke. Make a stoke similar to a putting stroke only slightly harder. All About Golf Tips recommends that when you initally start using this shot you spend some time practicing it. All great golfers know that repetition is key to excellence. Also, All About Golf Tips knows that it takes practice to familiarize yourself with the distance control needed with different sized swings. Because the seven iron has much more loft than the putter it will be necessary to make a putting stroke. This putting stroke will be for a putt of the same length but only slightly larger than one used with a putter.

This is a direct result of the energy of the stroke being used to hit the ball up (due to the loft) rather than 100% of the energy directed to forward movement as is the case with a putt on the greens surface. All About Golf Tips.com recommends that you only use this shot when the carry distance (or the distance it needs to travel in the air) is short enough to land the ball on the green (or the fringe). All About Golf Tips.com also wants you to remember when considering this shot that the ball will roll according to the flow of the green.

Are you looking for a way to halve your golf handicap immediately?

Then read on…

Did ya watch Tiger Woods during the U.S Open at Torrey Pines this year?

Tiger meticulously planned each golf shot – he is a pure golf warrior!

Tiger Woods is the best golfer on the planet mainly because he fully understands his strengths – and weaknesses. Yes, even Tiger has weaknesses.

You might think to play golf like Tiger Woods means to bomb every drive.

Or go for the miracle golf shot. This is hardly the case.

Read on…

When Tiger has the lead in the final round of a golf tournament he usually plays conservative; like hitting fairway wood off the tee – this usually takes the big number out of the equation. He lets his opponents beat themselves as they aggressively chase him.

Tiger’s knee hurt badly during all 4 rounds of the U.S. Open at Torrey Pines this past weekend. A weakness in his game not to be denied or ignored. Because of his knee injury Tiger knew what he was capable of, and what he wasn’t capable of.

Tiger played within his limits!

Even with all of Tiger’s power he still lays up on par fives when he’s in the rough, especially when he has the lead in the final round. He didn’t go for the green in two and risk shooting himself out of the golf tournament.

Tiger Woods learned early in life under the tutelage of his father Earl on how to survey the golf course AND his opponents with uncanny precision. Tiger does this through the fine art of course management.

And mental toughness!

What is the fine art of course management you say? It all starts with knowing your limits.

Knowing your strengths and weaknesses, and knowing your opponent’s strengths and weaknesses – and of course know the golf course you are playing on – this is your battlefield!

Tiger Woods knows his limits and plays within them. Amatuer golfers usually try to hit the golf shot they can pull off maybe 1/10 times. This usually ends up costing them at least 10 strokes or more a round (depending on their level).

The truth is, trying to pull off a shot you can perform maybe 1/10 attempts is foolish. This may make for great drama. Remember Tin Cup? How bout Jean Van de Velde when he choked in the ’99 British Open? They both went for the miracle golf shot.

The truth is going for the miracle shot when everything is on the line may make for great T.V. drama; however this attitude will absolutely crush your golf scores!

Do you hit driver on a 300 yard par 4 even though you can only drive the ball 250? The 50 yard pitch shot is one of the hardest shots in golf…

Even for Tiger Woods!

Rather than reaching for the big stick, leave yourself 100 yards for your second shot. For most good golfers 100 yards is a full pitching wedge which they can hit in their sleep.

Play golf like Tiger Woods as he systematically wore down a game competitor in Rocco Mediate during the 18 hole playoff in this year’s U.S. Open. Think and plan ahead – know your strengths – and your weaknesses!

The fact of the matter is, if you plan on leaving the golf ball at your “sweet spot” distance from the hole, you will dramatically improve your chances of hitting more greens in regulation.

And more greens in regulation leads to more circles on your score card – which means more pars and birdies!

For some this sweet spot distance from the pin is 100 yards, some 120 yards, learn what your sweet spot distance is and practice that shot over and over at the range until you can hit that shot in your sleep.

Play golf like Tiger Woods sizing up his next major win!

Hit ‘em Long and Straight!

As a response to a fan video from Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 08, Tiger Woods and EA SPORTS demonstrate that the “glitch” Levinator25 thought he found in the game, is not a glitch at all.
About Author

Golf tips for teaching golf to kids should always revolve around making sure that the kids have fun. Sure, it would be great if your son became the next Tiger Woods, but golf should be treated as a game, not a life or death struggle. These 5 tips will ensure that a child learns golf and enjoys it at the same time!

Tip 1) Keep Your Instructions Simple

If a parent is a golfer themselves, they have a tendency to be technical about elements of the game. Trying to explain concepts like “tempo’ or “swing plane” will only confuse a child. A confused child is easily frustrated. Start by taking the child to a driving range, and start practicing putting. The child will gain confidence by successfully making contact with the ball.

Next, teach the child how to chip the ball. This is a good second step, because chips require little backswing. The child has a good chance of success striking the ball.

Finally the child will progress to the driving range area. When instructing a child on a full golf swing, it is important to make sure they keep their feet on the ground, watch the ball, and strike it. Keep your golf tips on taking a full swing VERY simple.

Tip 2) Let The Child Progress At Their Own Pace

One of the best golf tips I ever recieved as a child was to practice most frequently the parts of the game that I enjoyed most. This advice ensured that I would stay with the game long enough to see success. Once I saw success with the elements of the game I enjoyed most, I ventured out to practice new areas of the game. Never push a child to improve too quickly. Patience is the name of the game with children.

Tip 3) Have Fun!

Once a child senses that golf is no longer fun, they have a much greater chance of losing interest. Try to structure competitive, but enjoyable games. It is important to make sure that all the children are winners. Constantly praise and encourage the participants.

Tip 4) Use Good Judgement In Purchasing Golf Equipment

Buying a child expensive golf equipment is a risky decision. Children tend to lose interest in new areas very quickly. The wisest decision is to purchase a used set of clubs intended for women. The clubs will be light weight, and easy for a child to control. If the child has demonstrated that they will continue to play golf, professional instruction might be appropriate. Just make sure the child is getting golf tips from a pro who has lots of experience teaching kids.

Tip 5) Teach Golf Etiquette

Children should learn golf etiquette very early in the teaching process. They should understand very basic rules such as standing still when another golfer is striking the ball. Certainly they should learn never to speak when a fellow player is putting etc.

Hopefully, these golf tips for kids will enhance the possibility that a child will not only get involved with the game, but enjoy it as well!

We get asked all of the time for quick golf tips. The question usually comes from someone who has to play in a corporate golf tournament or they are someone who does not play often and they are going on vacation and will have a chance to play a round at a prestigious golf course and are looking for quick golf tips. Here is a list of five free quick golf tips to enjoy your corporate event or vacation.

1. If you have any time before your event to practice, you do need to take advantage of this. Current golf instruction will say that you should spend twice as much time on your short game as you do your full swing. I know, I know, I know. How are you going to get the ball to the green? Without much time before the event, you will improve faster by spending time on getting the ball in the hole as opposed getting the ball just close to the green. If you do not get to play often, chances are that you hit many of your irons close to the same distance. Unless you have time for some golf instruction, this will not be fixed in a short period of time. Get the feel for and mechanics of chipping, pitching and putting.

2. When it comes time to play your round, make sure you loosen up before the round. By loosening up your muscles, you are allowing yourself to relax and prepare your body for the athletic movements you will be making during your round. Your time should also include some time on the practice putting green. You will want to become familiar with the speed of the greens.

3. Grip pressure and arm tension is something that all golfers should monitor during every single swing. Your shoulders and your forearms should not feel like they have any tension in them at all. To give you an example, if you take your grip and hold the club out in front of you with the shaft parallel to the ground. If your shoulders and forearms are relaxed enough then the golf club should drop to the ground. This is the feeling of how relaxed your shoulders and forearms should be during your golf swing.

4. Balance is an underestimated part of the golf swing by most amateurs. In your setup, you will need to check your balance from side to side (left to right) as well as from front to back. You can do this by simply swaying side to side until you feel balanced and do the same from front to back. This will allow you to find your perfect balance. Now the key is once this is found you may need to move closer to the ball or farther away from the ball to stay in balance.

5. Once you start playing your round of golf, leave your ego at home and make and aggressive swing at a conservative target. What does this mean? Do not always go flag hunting on every hole. With not playing very often you are not going to hit every shot where you are looking. Increase your chances of playing better by aiming at the largest part of the green or the part of the green you are most comfortable with trying to hit a golf shot.

Assuming you do not have much time until your event, use these five quick golf tips to have a successful day. To conclude the five quick golf tips, let me give you the best of all of the quick golf tips of them all. Make sure that you HAVE FUN! It is just a game.

As you are starting to play the great game of golf, everybody and their brother will be attempting to give you beginner golf tips. Trust me I mean everyone. This includes the guys that you are playing with that cannot break 100 themselves! They will become David Leadbetter or Butch Harmon in their own mind of all places right there on the golf course. You will quickly learn that there is a time and a place to work on your game. The golf course is where you should play and not practice. Work through all of your beginner golf tips while you are practicing on the driving range, short game area or practice putting green.

So with everyone throwing all of these free beginner golf tips at you, how do you know what to trust? Well, I can tell you that I do not ask my fellow golfers about legal or accounting advice. Through golf books, golf DVDs and local golf instruction, there are many credible and qualified sources for you to tap.

Here are two beginner golf tips from Brad Myers who teaches at The Massengale Golf Academy in Houston, Texas:

Beginner golf tips: Short Game

Opposed to popular belief and actions, if you want to learn how to play the game of golf or if you have played for a long time and want to lower your handicap, learn how to chip and putt. It may not seem as macho or as sexy to learn all of these little short shots as opposed to standing on the driving range banging out long shots. No matter what your current handicap is, if you want to lower your golf scores learn all aspects of the short game. This will drop your scores faster than standing on a driving range for a long period of time week after week.

Here is a question that may put how important the short game is and can help put it into perspective for you. Once your round is finished, do you want to give your buddy a hard time about the one drive you hit past him/her or do you want to brag about the lower score that you shot? Speaking from experience, the ribbing about how your buddy hit one past you is pretty short-lived as he is paying you for winning the bet of lowest score.

One last thought about the short game for you is to make sure you arrive early enough to spend some time on the putting green putting and chipping before your round. You do not need to spend thirty minutes there. You just need to hit enough putts and chip shots to get a good feeling going prior to your round.

Beginner golf tips: Have fun

Unfortunately, most people will tell you that they play the game for fun or to relax but their actions simply do not say the same thing. Especially while you are learning the game, you should set little goals for your rounds or practice time. Sometimes they are not even to do anything with golf. You simply cannot concentrate for four to five hours straight. Maybe it is to play with certain people to enjoy their company or maybe you try to identify different birds or wildlife. Remember it is to be fun for you!

Using these beginner golf tips will help you reach your playing goals and fun goals!

Are you looking for golf tips for every part of your golf game? If so, then you are in the right place. We are going to give you 3 golf tips on how to hit better drives, 3 golf tips on how to hit better irons and 3 golf tips on how to hit better chip shots.

3 Golf Tips on How to Hit Better Drives

Everyone is in love with the fact of trying to get as much distance as they can from their driver. Some players are even obsessed to the point, it hurts their scores. A test with tour players was done years ago on this subject. They had them hit their drive. If it was in the fairway, fine. If it was in the rough, they had them play that ball. In addition, they put in play another ball that was in the fairway but thirty yards behind their tee shot in the rough. Believe it or not, these players scored better from the fairway thirty yards behind the original ball in the rough! That proves how important hitting it in the fairway is for all of us. Here is how you can hit better drives:

1. Make sure your ball position is correct. Many amateurs play their driver to far forward in their stance in an attempt to help the ball in the air.

2. Use a full swing but only swing 80%. This means if a full swing is normally 100mph then you are looking to stay in balance and swing at 80mph.

3. Make sure that you have the correct shaft in your driver. Many players have pre-conceived ideas that they need to hit a certain flex shaft. I would make my decision more strictly based on the ball flight.

3 Golf Tips on How to Hit Better Irons

Many players do not believe that they can improve their iron play by slowing down and making sure they have the proper club in their hand. Remember the closer that you are able to hit your irons the shorter your putts will be and then you will look like a better putter! Improve how you hit your irons with these 3 tips:

1. As simple as it sounds most players do not know the average distance that they hit each golf club. The key word here is average. How long you hit your seven-iron one time (downhill and downwind) simply does not matter. I would rather brag about the low score I shot after the round than the long seven-iron that I hit on the eighth hole!

2. Take the time while you are on the golf course to find the yardage to the front and back of the green as well as the distance to the hole.

3. Choose the club that allows you to make a full swing. This takes away many variables that can go wrong during your swing.

3 Golf Tips on How to Improve Your Chip Shots

Improving your short game and your chip shots is the quickest way to lower your scores behind improving your putting. Many players do not practice it as much because it is not as glamorous as trying to bang out the long drives. Even the best players miss greens so if you cannot chip the ball around the green, you will not be able to ever score very well. The short game of golf is where you really need to practice, so check out the following 3 tips:

1. Any time that you can hit a low shit that runs the ball up to the hole as opposed to flying it all of the way there, do it. This gives you more room for error and percentage-wise you will get you closer to the hole for the next shot, unless you make the chip shot! Do not be scared to use an eight, seven or even a five iron to get the distance that you need.3

2. Hold your finish until the ball has stopped rolling. Use this time to monitor your balance and evaluate the shot.

3. Know without a doubt where you would like the ball to land. If you claim to have trouble visualizing shots then explain where you want to land it out loud. This will accomplish the same thing.

Implement these golf tips into your game and you will see your scores go down and you will have something to talk about in the locker room!

In looking for online golf tips I always go back to one of my father’s sayings, “If it seems too good to be true, it probably is.” Everywhere you look, there are free golf lessons, online golf tips, and golf instructions of how to swing a golf club. Not only are beginning golfers looking for the “magic bullet” but, they want it for free. Beginning golfers to mid-handicap golfers be the most aware as these players tend to look for any golf instruction information. Better players tend not to do this because they understand that not all information is good information. Before using any free information from the web, take your time. Once online, you need to be very careful with the experience and certifications of the golf instructor. Is it a PGA Golf Professional or someone just writing for their blog about their own experience?

So can you benefit from online golf tips? Where do you find them? First, think about what exactly it is that you would like to have help with. As with any search, the more specific the search the better matches will appear. Proceed to Google or your favorite search engine, and type your thought in the search bar. Obviously, you can then search the results for exactly what you want.

All of us are striving to find the golf tips to give us the perfect golf swing. This is as true of beginning golfers as well as well accomplished players. Although there are multiple golf books and golf DVDs of golf tips on the market, most players can improve their golf game by simply paying more attention to what they are doing even before they swing the golf club.

As you watch touring professionals on TV, they take what seems to the majority of us way too much time setting up to the golf ball. Not that we need to take any more time when we play a round of golf, we can be aware of the following golf tips in our golf swing set up:

Golf Tips – Alignment
You have to know where you are going in order to get there. If you are not pointing in the direction that you want the golf ball to start, then you will have to make many manipulations in order to create the ball flight that you want.

You can easily check this in a short practice session on the driving range. As you hit some range balls, lay some clubs on the ground to properly gain your bearings. It will feel different at first. This is good. It means that you are changing something.

Golf Tips – Ball Position
Although there are many theories on where the ball should be at address, most golfers should keep this very simple and keep the club head in the center of their stance. Understand that the club head can change, depending on the type of club that you are using.

When you are swinging the driver, the middle of the driver club head will go in the middle of your stance. By looking at the center of the top of the driver head, since the driver head is the widest, the ball will be placed farther forward in your stance than your irons.

When swinging an iron, again place the center of the club head in the center of your stance. This takes the guess work out of where to place the golf ball and will lead to consistency in your ball striking.

Golf Tips – Balance
This is the most overlooked fundamental throughout the entire golf swing. It is especially important in the setup. If you do not start in proper balance, it is very unlikely you will gain it during the motion.

Balance comes in two forms. Balance needs to be correct from side to side as well as front to back. This is easy to check by moving the weight around on your feet prior to making your golf swing. Once you find your balance, it is not uncommon that you may need to move closer or farther away from the golf ball.

By monitoring these three golf tips in your own golf set up, you will improve your consistency and increase the number of solid golf shots that you hit. Not only will the game become more fun whether you are a beginner golfer or an accomplished player, you will also see you scores improve.

Help answer the question about tiger woods
I bought Tiger Woods 09 for the Wii, How do you play with 2 people using the same wii somewhere else?
3 people are trying to play TIger woods golf 09 on the wii online using only two consoles.

Many amateur golfers spend lots of money buying new golf equipment and very little money on golf lessons. They have the impression that the new equipment will improve their golf and take their game to a whole new level. This is one of the reasons why amateurs never seem to get better. Here is why you should invest in golf lessons.

New golf equipment is very nice to have and the improvements in technology do help you to play better, but only to a certain extent.

The clubs are only the tool golfers use to play golf. The method or skill behind using the clubs effectively are entirely dependant on the golfer’s ability.

So why is it that many golfers buy new clubs rather than invest in golf lessons? I’ll tell you why. It all comes down to image. If you are seen with the latest and best golf clubs, most people assume you to be quite a good player because you look the part. That is until you swing the club. Then the truth comes out and you turn out not to be as good as you appeared to be.

This is a problem. I’m not saying don’t buy new golf clubs. Of course you must try have the best equipment available. All I am saying is that you should consider taking some lessons to get the maximum benefit and satisfaction from your clubs.

There are many different lessons you can have. They range from personal one-on-one lessons with a recognised teaching PGA Pro, or buying books and dvds that explain graphically how to play better golf.

PGA Pro’s are wonderful coaches to have as they are all pretty good players and will help you to correct your swing to play better. The only problem is that they cost a lot of money to hire and are not always available when you need them.

Instructional books and dvds are the next best thing to have. The benefits of having them are as follows. You buy them once off, they don’t cost a fortune, they provide great step-by-step instruction and are available for you to refer to whenever you need them. There are many excellent golf instructional dvds and e-books on the market today that can potentially teach you a lot more about he game of golf than any PGA Pro could and these books and dvds cover a wide range of topics to do with golf improvement.

So here is a a tip for all amateur golfers who wish to improve their game the cost effective way. Buy golf instructional dvds, e-books and training aids and after watching or reading them practice what they teach at a driving range. If you still struggle with a particular aspect of your game after that, then go visit you local PGA Pro for additional help.
